So last weekend I had chance to meet with one of my 2015 couples Lauren and Jamie for a catch up and a bit of pre wedding photography ahead of their imminent wedding day.  We chose the lovely Cannon Hill Park as our meeting place, a place all brummies reading this post will be very familiar with.

Birmingham is the UKs second largest city, heavily populated and recognised as its industrial backbone so the 80 acres of formal parkland and 120 acres of conservation and woodland plantation have provided a welcome escape for families, right in the heart of the city, for many generations.  I have many childhood memories centred around this park and now having a young family of my own am a regular visitor.

The park amongst many things boasts a Grade 2 listed Bandstand, forming part of the original park layout set in a natural amphitheatre.  It has successfully achieved Green Flag status for the past ten years, the Green Flag award scheme recognises and rewards the best green spaces in the country.  The park is also home to Mac Birmingham, an art centre providing opportunities for people from all backgrounds to see, hear and, most importantly, make art.
